OWL PLUSHIES

In room 12, we have been making owl plushies. we used fabric, string, needles and good scissors that can cut through fabric easily. 1st we designed what our owl's were going to look like, In our art book, then we used a paper owl. next, we had to get our fabric that we choose'd In our art book, then we cut out the owl, the paper owl helped us to know how big we had have our owl, after we cut out BOTH sides for our owl's we started to put our wings and eyes on, after we did that, we flipped over BOTH plain sides (that didn't have any wings or anything like that,) we stitched It together, but we stopped at the bottom, so we could put the stuffing In It. Next, when our stuffing was In, we finished stitching our owls. then our owls were finished.

SWIM SAFE

In room 12 we had swim safe week at water world. Their was 3 swimming groups, easy, medium and hard, I was In the medium group with Raniera, Caleb, Justice and Desmond. we were learning our kicking. On our 2nd to last day of swim safe week the hard and medium group tried life jackets on. It was really fun.

I really enjoyed swim safe week, It was loads of fun

calendar art

In room 12, we have been doing calendar art for next year. Our theme for our calendar art was sea creatures, and our background had to be patchwork collage which I thought was very fun. 1st, we had to practice drawing In our art book. Everybody did plain sea things which were jellyfish, turtles, rocks, dolphins, seaweed, corals shells, and most common, FISH, but I went creative, and  did a sea monster and a mermaid. After everybody finished, Mrs Parkinson put everybodys calendar art on the wall. here Is a photo of my calendar art. If you want to see the rest of team 12's calendar art, just come Into room12. JUGGLING

In Room 12, we have been learning how to juggle. Our 1st go, we tried only 1 ball, Then when we got better, we budded up, and tried 2 balls. I thought me and my buddy were really good. after we got better, we tried all sorts of things while juggling with 2 balls. We tried sitting,standing and even walking, some of us were having trouble but some of us thought It was easy. we all have fun juggling.          this Is a photo of me (left bottom) and my buddy (right top)

high jump

During week 2, room12 did high jump,the first time, I had to miss out cause I had a painful leg so I just watched everybody. The next day, I was ready to jump. we all lined up on our side we were good on, then we practised with elastic rope. Some of us had trouble, and some of us thought It was easy. Later on, It got abit hot. I got abit distracted that I found It so hard to jump. After we were finished, we went Inside and cooled ourselves down while our teacher was reading a story. I thought It was challenging for me but I thought I still did well.

PAIRED WRITING

In room 12, we have been doing paired writing. Paired writing Is when we have a writer and a tutor to help the writer to put more interest In their stories. I am a tutor, and my Buddie Is Savannah.

3 things I have learnt In paired writing is to actually stop and change my mistakes Instead of just leaving It there when I write, Use capital letters and put more effort in my writing.

2 comments I gave on my Buddie was that she's really Improving and that she's putting more Interest In all of her stories.

1 thing that has challenged me Is If my Buddie forgets what she was gonna write, I have to remember what she was gonna write.

the production

3 things I enjoyed about the production was:
 The costume's and face paint we got to wear on the stage.
 The dance we did.
 I had loads of FUN!

2 emotions I experienced. When and why?
 I felt nervous when I went on the stage cause all the audience were looking at me
 I felt frustrated when we were waiting to go on the stage because the juniors and middles wouldn't keep quite.

1 thing I found the challenging was:
Trying to keep in time with everybody when we were doing our dance. 

cross country

On the 24th August, we had cross country. It was really muddy and wet but we made It through the day. My race was 4th. Bailey came 1st, Kayla came 2nd, I came 3rd, Brooke came 4th and I think Ariana came 5th. My Mum and Dad was very proud of me because I am going to Inter schools. When we got back, (we were all covered In mud so) we got hosed down by Mr Peachy. It was a very long  day for all of us but we all had fun. :)

MY SPEECH

On Wednesday 6th June, Room 12 presented their speeches about discovery. I did my speech about Thomas Edison and how he made the light bulb. 3 things I thought I did well for my speech was... I spoke loud and clear, I used eye contact and I used props to entertain my audience. 2 improvements for my speech was I am quiet shy but I was confident to speak in front of my whole class, I put a lot of effort to it. 1 thing I learnt from my speech was that Thomas Edison wasn't the first person to create the light bulb but he made a better version, one that could replace the gassy lamps. In my math group, we have been learning about jumping in 10's.We were given some question's to solve like 67+22=? and I would solve it like this. 60+20=80  2+7=9  80+9=89. Did I get it right? Yes I did. I think I have improved in my math, so my teacher might just change me into the next group, and if I did...YAY!

Remembrance assembly

In room 12 we did an assembly about Remembrance. It was about in the newspaper, 2 MAD scientist invented a time travel invention. Then 3 ordinary kids (which one of them was me) walked by and they heard about the Invention, they said "we heard about the Invention in the paper". Later on, the scientist said "sure we are! now, who wants to go on a time travelling adventure". After the scientist said those words, the kids said "WE WILL WE WILL", so the kids and the scientists went back In time to WAR . They went all the way back to when the Gallipoli landing happened and also when the Anzac's were training for war. We all learnt something new like... I learnt how hard It was to get up the terrain at Gallipoli landing. After the trip, there was a memorial service and Brenna said a speech about the people who died at war . Then after the speech, the time travelers laid the wreaths for REMEMBRANCE of the Anzacs.

REMEMBRANCE

In room 12 we have been learning about Anzac day. Anzac day happens on the 25th of April to remember the ones that went to war for us, which were the Australia and the New Zealand Army Corp.  It all started when they, by mistake, went too far North and ended up at this place called Gallipoli.Then, when they realized that, they were getting attacked by there enemies, the Turks, they had no choice but to fight for their lives. 2271 New Zealand's and 8500 Australian's died from that massive fight. Anzac day is so special to us, so we decided to make a wreaths for the Anzac's, so they know that we will remember them. If you want to come and see our wreaths and how we made them, come to room 12 and we can tell you more about Anzac day.

Senior swimming sports

On thursday the 8th of March, the senior's went to SWIMMING SPORTS!!!! We got there by a bus.Then when we got there we went in and got changed. After we were ready, we all went to find our house colours. The house colours are hillary,rutherford,battern and NGATA!!! I was in ngata. Later when everybody was ready we said our chart.I think that ngata won cause we are awesome. After all of our charts we finally started our swimming race's.The first race i was in was backstroke length and i came 2nd. Then my second race was freestyle and i came 3rd. then finally when all the children were done racing each other we did our relay race. room 12 was versing room 13,room 15,room 14. room 12 won.After the relay race room 12 had to verse the parents.After the last person which was Kayla, we won again.Then when everyone was done racing and relay racing we all got dressed and headed back to school but lucky for me my mum took me home for a big nice rest :)
